Let Her Sing® Comes to San Diego for the First Time

For the first time in San Diego, Diaspora Arts Connection, in collaboration with the Persian Cultural Center of San Diego, presents Let Her Sing®: A Celebration of Female Voices on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

The San Diego debut forms part of the 10th anniversary of Let Her Sing®, a programme created to celebrate women vocalists and affirm the right of every woman to sing, create, and be heard.

For a decade, Let Her Sing® has brought artists and communities together across cultural and geographic borders. Working at the intersection of arts and human rights, the programme creates a professional platform for women from diasporic and underrepresented communities—particularly those connected to parts of the world where women’s public voices continue to be censored, restricted, or suppressed.

The 2026 lineup features six remarkable artists:

Mina Deris, Mehrnam Rastegari, Marjan Farsad, Gelareh Sheibani, Eilbret Dooman, and Roxana Sarrafi.

Their work spans Persian classical and folk traditions, Arabic and Assyrian musical heritage, contemporary songwriting, visual storytelling, and cross-cultural experimentation. Through solo performances and new musical collaborations, the evening will celebrate the richness of global female artistry and the stories of heritage, migration, resilience, and belonging carried through song.

The concert will be hosted by Iranian-Canadian soprano, songwriter, and Let Her Sing® alumna Golrokh Aminian. The artists will perform with the Let Her Sing® house band under the direction of Music Director Yahya Alkhansa, with Navid Ghaem Maghami returning as Art Director.

This first San Diego presentation marks an important new chapter for Let Her Sing®, extending its message of artistic freedom, cultural exchange, and solidarity to new audiences in Southern California.

Join us as we celebrate ten years of Let Her Sing® and welcome this powerful programme to San Diego for the first time.
