Founder’s Welcome

To friends of Diaspora Arts Connection,

Welcome to our website! We appreciate a chance to tell you a little about ourselves and to seek your support in reaching our goals.

Diaspora Arts Connection has been in existence since 2013, pursuing the goals of helping artists in diaspora and providing stages to artists. We were established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2016, and with the help of our Board of Directors, donors, and supporters, we are on our way to realize our goals and dreams in the years to come.

The vision that has brought us to this momentous time in the life of Diaspora Arts Connection began almost a decade ago, and has gained depth and breadth with the years. That vision is based on the belief that artists should be supported in their quest for a platform to express themselves. Our organization strives to fulfill its mission through producing and promoting performances and installations for artists of diaspora, providing them with the necessary resources to bring their art to a receptive and supportive audience, and preparing them to continue their professional growth in other parts of the world.

Although helping and nurturing artists of diaspora is a key part of our mission, perhaps the most rewarding part of our work is seeing our community come together to support our organization and the artists; enriching its life in the process through exposure to a diverse range of arts and events, including music, dance, theater, film screenings, poetry and book readings, and art exhibitions.

Thanks to our supportive community, we have helped hundreds of artists to take to many popular stages, enabling them to be seen and heard so that their art may be appreciated. We have built and sustained collaborations with Bay Area organizations and venues for over 150 events, which have filled over 27,000 seats.

Continuing to build on our accomplishments, we need your support, so that we can help the next generation of artists in diaspora for years to come. By helping us, you will help a group of emerging artists build up a presence and a portfolio that will help them in their careers into the future. Even if you don’t live in the San Francisco Bay Area, chances are that after these artists take to stage and begin a successful career, they can also perform in cities near you, as many of the artists we have helped have done.

Your tax-deductible contributions will help us in our mission to enrich our community through nurturing the next generation of artists of diaspora. Please support our work by donating today!

Thank you.
